Cathy Hudson, the current HCCA President, was awarded the 2012 Preservationist of the Year Award by Preservation Howard County, a countywide historic preservation organization.  Additionally, Cathy was recognized by the Howard County Council at the November, 2012 County Council meeting and presented with an Honorary Resolution congratulating and thanking her for her “dedication to the many historic sites in Howard County”.

Whereas: “Ms. Hudson has worked tirelessly to preserve and restore several sites in the Elkridge community including: working to preserve the physical appearance of the Elkridge Assembly Rooms, establishing the Save Belmont Coalition dedicated to protecting the historic Belmont estate from development, and serving as an officer with the Patapsco Heritage Greenway, Inc.
