The following announcement was posted on the HCCA listserve by Marsha McLaughlin, Director Department of Planning & Zoning (edited by Ros Williams to reflect revised schedule):
As many of you know, the Planning Board had a public meeting on Thursday October 18th regarding a proposed zoning regulation amendment (ZRA 144) to create a new Community Enhancement Floating (CEF) zone.
At the request of several citizens the Planning Board agree to continue the public meeting until 7:00 pm on November 1st, to allow more time for citizens to review this proposal and prepare their comments for the Board.
The Dept of Planning and Zoning has scheduled a meeting next Wednesday, October 31st and Thursday Nov 1st from 5:00-6:30 pm (both days) to provide an explanation of the proposed CEF zoning district and answer any questions. The meeting will be held in the Ellicott City-Columbia Room in the George Howard Room , 3430 Courthouse Drive , Ellicott City .
The CEF district is a planned unit development, which is an innovative zoning approach that may allow increased flexibility to create unique, well designed, context sensitive developments that enhance surrounding communities. PlanHoward 2030 recommends consideration of this approach (Policy 6.5, Action c).
