The Howard County Citizens Association (HCCA) cordially invites you to attend a Town Hall Listening Meeting with the Director of the Department of Zoning, Marsha McLaughlin; the Director of Housing, Tom Carbo; and the County’s candidates seeking office. This will include those running for County Executive, Allan Kittleman and Courtney Watson. The aforementioned have accepted our invitation. We have also invited Council and School Board candidates and members.
It will be held on Tuesday, 1 April 2014 at 7PM at the Hawthorn Center located at 6175 Sunny Spring, Columbia, MD 21044. The purpose is for citizens to voice any concerns or offer suggestions they might have on such county topics below or some other subject of interest and have Marsha and Tom provide their responses while the candidates listen.
- The Vision of Our County
- The Growth in the Area
- Housing
- Education – School capacity – Redistricting
- The Environment
- Adequate Public Facility
- Health
- Crime
- Aging in Place
- The Referendum for Comprehensive Zoning
- New Town Zoning
- Stormwater Fee
This is an opportunity for our future leaders to hear citizen’s voices with the objective of having our soon to be elected officials act on your suggestions and concerns.
HCCA’s Annual Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, 7 May 2014 at the Hawthorn Center to include a Candidates Forum to give you the opportunity for those running for County office to directly address your concerns and suggestions.
Sincerely,
Stu Kohn, HCCA President
