Director – Jervis Dorton
Jervis grew up in Welwyn Garden City, the epitome of the mid-twentieth century Garden City Movement in the U.K. He received his architectural education in London and is a member of the Royal Institute of Architects. He joined The Rouse Company in 1969 to participate in the planning of Columbia and particularly the early phases of Downtown and then the Village of Owen Brown. Subsequently moved to the company’s Commercial Development Division managing the design of regional malls including White Marsh and the expansion of Columbia Mall.
A resident of Oakland Mills, he is a recent member of its Village Board and Chair of its Architectural Committee. Concerned that the future of Columbia’s Industrial Parks and Downtown are not following the tenets for good community and city planning.
